An ideal choice for all levels of training.
DSS-100 Dynamic Simulator System

A unique combination of sophistication and ease
Highly sophisticated, yet easy to use, the Simtronics DSS-100 is unique among commercial simulators. The flexibility of the system makes it an ideal choice for all levels of training: from entry level or college degree programs all the way up to highly experienced incumbent operators and technicians. The DSS-100 is highly adaptable and can match the capabilities of virtually any level of trainee.

This functionality allows the simulator to be used more broadly (and therefore deliver more value) than other simulators on the market.

The DSS-100 is an interactive, dynamic, real-time process simulator. Easy to use, loaded with continuously upgraded features, and very affordable, the DSS-100 can meet your needs for trainee education and operator training and qualification.

New Version 6.1 Features

  • New Trainee and Instructor Tutorials
    — These comprehensive, interactive tutorials are designed to instruct both trainees and instructors on how to easily and effectively use the Simtronics simulator.
    — Eliminates the need to waste valuable classroom time on basic instruction. Tutorials are self paced and can be done during lab or other "non-classroom" time.
    — Also teaches many aspects of basic process for new hires or P-tech trainees!

  • New Equipment Tutorials
Animated equipment and process tutorials launch directly from the schematics page of the Simtronics DSS-100 Simulator.
    — Helps trainees to visualize the units and equipment they are running.
    — Blending of knowledge and skill based learning for a total training approach.

  • New Windows Service Session Manager
    — Allows the DSS-100 to better integrate with today's strict network access controls.

  • A state-of-the-art, dynamic, real-time process training simulator
The DSS-100 is designed to run on a standalone PC or a network. The simulator's intuitive interface enables 'point and click' access to virtually every feature in the simulator. And group instrumentation faceplates have 'click and drag' setpoints and outputs.

Implementing the DSS-100 is easy. Simtronics provides numerous faults that can be used instantaneously or on a timed basis. Simtronics also provides numerous initial conditions (training exercises) implementing these faults on a timed basis.

Instructors can assign trainees Simtronics-supplied exercises, including start-up and shutdown. They can also create their own custom exercises where an initial condition or encountered fault is configured. Faults can easily be created and visualized using the Fault Detail Display which graphs the fault's profile - including one of eight fault function generators, initial time, and length of time the fault occurs - with the following features:

  • Four (4) levels of User Access
  • Preconfigured Faults
  • Variable Faults
  • Timed Faults
  • Fault Function Previews
  • Freeze/Go
  • Store up to 999 Exercises per SPM
  • Configure your own Faults
  • Eight (8) Fault Function Generators
  • Audible Alarm
  • Multiple Eventlog Filters

  • Create and store exercises, and assign them to any trainee on the network. Measure any traineee's performance on a 0% to 100% scale in six categories:

  • Time to complete
  • Adherence to Standard Procedures
  • Deviation from Design Conditions
  • Safety
  • Alarms
